Description
The Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding center (TTRC) is a non-profit organization that offers equine-assisted services to children and adults with emotional, physical, and cognitive needs. Money raised through this campaign will fund Riderships, used to benefit participants in both Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding sessions. Riderships are provided to all TTRC participants and aid in reducing the out-of-pocket cost they pay for sessions. Riderships allow participants and their families to pay for sessions at a discounted rate-as insurance is not currently accepted.
Why Your Support Matters
A large percentage of the Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center is currently funded through grants and donations. It is thanks to the support of generous donors that TTRC can keep its doors open to provide services to those in need. Specifically, fundraising for Riderships is important because many of TTRC's participants have extensive medical bills. TTRC's goal is to provide the highest quality and safest form of equine-assisted services to its participants, without adding to their medical debt.
How You Can Make an Impact
Because of your support, TTRC is able to provide equine-assisted services to an average of 450 participants per year. These participants are involved in TTRC's weekly sessions in which the program sees 60-75 participants per week, various research studies, and community outreach events. The TTRC waitlist continues to grow as more individuals and families seek Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding services. With the generous support of TTRC's Ridership fund, TTRC can continue positively impacting the lives of many.
If anyone is interested in learning more about additional ways to donate to the program, become a volunteer, receive information on sessions, or sponsor a TTRC horse, they can contact the TTRC office via email at ttrc@ttu.edu.
